Debate & innovative thinking on sustainable development
Economic & Social Council
The Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) is the United Nations’ central platform for reflection, debate, and innovative thinking on sustainable development.
Its agenda embraces some of the most significant global challenges including economic development, the environment, social and demographic change, humanitarian aid, the empowerment of women, and the promotion of equality.
Like the real ECOSOC, delegates representing NGOs play an important part in negotiations. Resolutions are only considered successful if they pass a vote of Member States and they have the endorsement of the NGOs that are likely to be key in implementing the resolution on the ground.
Each delegate in ECOSOC will be represented by a single delegate.
